DIY SEO – Search Engine Optimisation of your web site. It’s a great start to getting yourself found faster on the internet. Here are some simple tips to help you get better rankings in search engines- all of which you can do yourself.

Today you’ll briefly hear about utilising your primary keywords in headers, page titles, and URL’s.

Firstly you’ll need your keywords which you researched earlier in order to be successful in your do it yourself Search Engine Optimisation- a combination of keywords, keyword phrases, and long tail keywords. It’s fine to use more then 6 sets but for clarity and consistency you’ll want only six to be your key key words.

Go into the HTML code and you’ll see the header information at the top before the close header tag. First thing you’ll need to do it yourself is to change is the title tag. You want to include your top keywords in here along with the name of your company. This will be the first thing that search engines find so make good use of it.

The second most important thing to adjust is the URL. Google rates the filenames of your HTML pages fairly highly so it’s effective to use your keywords in the filename of the page and the various folders to increase your SEO effectiveness. Be sure not to have an overly complex folder system because it may be seem as spam if the directory system is too complex or file name is too long. Use hyphens not underscores between keywords for best Search Engine Optimization effect.

One of the strongest factors Google uses to judge pages is not the content itself or the SEO effectiveness of said content but rather the popularity of the pages. The best way to increase your search engine ranking is to increase your internet footprint and backlinks in popular internet channels, using established principles and new technology and that’s where we come in.
